A handmade pendant from The Vintage Collection, with a Limoges porcelain container. Made by Spanish jeweler Pérez Albertin.

This is true, unworn vintage from the 60's.
It was once part of a batch of souvenirs for travelers.

The frame of the pendant is 14k solid gold, with Limoges on one side. The other side has a Black Onyx stone and a small silver cut circle in the middle with a diamond at its center.

History and Metaphysical properties
Black Onyx has a long history of being associated with protective powers across many cultures including Ancient Greeks and Romans, Persian, Chinese and Indian. Throughout history, the stone has not only been used in amulets and jewellery, but also in carved cameos.
 
According to legend, while Venus (goddess of love) laid to rest near the Indus valley, her son Cupid pranked her by shooting down her fingernails with enchanting arrows. Immediately her nails sank into the river. Upon touching the bottom, the nails turned into onyx gemstones.
Using the black onyx, Cleopatra could distinguish between a loyal and a disloyal servant, as many had plotted to overthrow her regime. Also, it would warn her of danger, negative energy and bad-willed people when exposed to it in the form of vibrations. Therefore, she kept the stone close to her for protection and strength.
Initially, black onyx was an omen to ancient civilizations. However, after getting acquainted and familiar with its mythical and mystical qualities, black onyx jewelry was often given as birthday gifts as well as wedding anniversary gifts.
