Ancient Hindu beliefs state that Labradorite influences the throat chakra.  It allows us to express what we are thinking and feeling. Wearing labradorite is said to help to develop openness and to maintain good communication. 

Orange labradorite is said to also be tied to the sacral chakra.

Another tale about labradorite originates from the Inuit people of North America. Their legend says that the Northern Lights,  were at one time entrapped within the Earth (as Labradorite). When an Inuit warrior went out and wand struck the earth with his spear, releasing the lights into the sky, creating the Northern Lights.

The Aztecs considered Labradorit for transformation and rebirth. For the Druids, it was associated with the moon and with magic. In India, with a holy stone capable of rousing intuition and enhancing psychic abilities.
