Libyan Gold is often called Moldavite's gentle sister.

Libyan Gold is a tektite said to have come into existence 27.5 million years ago, when a massive asteroid impacted the Great Sand Sea desert (Gilf Kebir, Egypt). The gigantic event left behind Libyan Desert Glass or, as we prefer to call them - Libyan Gold Tektites. It is the purest form of Tektite, with the highest Silicon content (98%). This Star Stone was made out of the highest light (Asteroid impact) and influences mainly the third and fourth energy centers of consciousness. Egyptian pharaohs and priests wore the stones in the heart region because their vibration complies with these two energy centers. In one of Tutankhamun's (1332–1323 BC) royal necklaces, it is the central stone carved in a scarab, which symbolizes resurrection and rebirth. A recent discovery showed that the eyes of Queen Nefertiti's world-famous statue (1370 - 1330 BC) were made out of Libyan Gold Tektite.
